How to lounge in style and comfort when pregnant
Taking time out when expecting – although not easily done for some – is extremely important, especially during the later stages of pregnancy. Here are nine ways to lounge in style and comfort, and our favourite products to help you cosy up and take some time for yourself.
Our range of loungewear, from ultra-soft cotton pyjamas by Eberjey to stylish prints by Stella McCartney. All styles are super comfortable while pregnant due to their loose fit and elasticated waistbands, so all that’s left to decide is whether you want a short, long-leg or a sleepshirt. We love these cashwool track pants and matching relaxed sweater from T by Alexander Wang.
Warm slippers to keep your toes snug – this pair by Lucy Choi for Liberty don’t compromise style either, with a Liberty print on the inside and cut from soft sheepskin. If slippers aren’t your thing, then try a pair of cashmere socks for the ultimate lounging luxury.
Available from Liberty London
Good old-fashioned tea, just make sure that you limit your caffeine intake when expecting. Our go-to brand is Pukka, for organic herbal teas in a whole range of different flavours. If you’re experiencing nausea, then opt for their ‘Three Ginger’ tea that helps to relieve morning sickness while having a warming effect.
Available from supermarkets nationwide or Pukka Teas
The latest phenomenon, ‘The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way To Live Well’ by Meik Wiking that reveals the Danish tradition of creating happiness in your everyday life, such as how to pick the right lighting or unwind. Candle – our current obsession and named by our interviewee and Birchbox director Jessica Diner as one of her favourites, is the Le Labo brand. Luxury scents such as ‘The Noir’ or ‘Santal 33’ have become cult-hits, with their ‘Figue’ candle making a sumptuous option to burn while relaxing.

A robe that you can wear through all three trimesters and post-partum too. Our Eberjey Serena Orchid style is kimono-inspired for a flattering fit when expecting. The lace trims adds a delicate feel so that lounging still feels ladylike – even if you’re weeks away from giving birth and seconds away from polishing off that batch of sweet treats you made…
A blanket, which you can later use to swathe your little one in. This ‘Love’ design by Oeuf is a sweet way to wrap you or them up, crafted from 100% baby alpaca wool for a luxury finish.
