Maternity dressing gets a high-fashion remix by the Russian style star. We round up her best pregnancy looks and go behind the scenes of her glamorous baby shower
Nasiba Adilova is not one to shy away from a statement look. A street-style darling, she has been photographed in such ensembles as a polka dot suit teamed with a raspberry-pink coat, and a neon patterned dress accented with orange pumps. So it’s little surprise that the Russian-born, Dallas-based director of business development at Buro 24/7 has given pregnancy fashion a colourful shake-up. Whether dashing between shows at couture fashion week or holidaying on the Adriatic coast, Nasiba hasn’t let a burgeoning baby bump get in the way of her high-impact style. We take a look at her top expectant outfits.
Demure at the front, dramatic at the back, Valentino’s cape dresses are Nasiba’s go-to style for evening.
Whether it is the cover-up of the moment or a graphic dress, Nasiba proves you don’t have to forego the latest looks when expecting, just pick the pieces that work for pregnancy.
Vintage-inspired silhouettes flatter feminine curves – take your cues from Nasiba and accent your outfit with statement accessories for a modern finish.

In Her Words
What have you loved most about being pregnant?
Everything - it has been a fantastic experience!
Boy, girl, or are you keeping it a surprise?
I do not have the patience to not find out! We found out we were having a boy as fast as we could!
Have you decided on a name?
Yes, he will be called Thomas Louis
What there a theme for the shower?
It was all planned by my amazing mother in law who is a master at throwing parties. It was all a secret. I believe she wanted to do a chic baby boy shower and she definitely did it!
Where was it held?
The Ritz in Dallas. The food included my favourites: grilled cheese as a starter, champagne sorbet to cleanse the palate and steamed salmon with asparagus.
What inspired your custom-made dress by Mary Katrantzou?
I wanted Mary to make my outfit, and she said she would love to. I wanted something very feminine and light. She created a few designs and sent them over for us to choose together. She used a beautiful fabric from her resort collection which I chose in her studio back in June. I wore Paul Andrew heels with the dress - my favourite shoes!
What was on the gift registry?
I really wanted a lot of books, especially books that had significance to me, ones I was read as a baby.
Do you have many friends that are mothers, or are you the first to fall pregnant?
I have lots of friends with babies, and moreover a lot of my girlfriends are pregnant at the same time! Such an exciting time.
Your due date is fast approaching, what are you feelings towards the birth?
I am not scared at all, I am very excited.
What are you most looking forward to about becoming a mother?
I think I know, but I have no idea! I'm anticipating that incredible bond and that indescribable love for the baby.
