How to dress for the best of the summer’s events – with or without a bump
There’s nothing more fun than getting dressed for summer events. When you’re not lazing by the pool or relaxing in your garden, the best summer events will be calling your name. Summer occasion wear is having a moment this season and bump or no bump, you’ll be the best dressed – no matter where you are.
Relaxed but not casual – the Polo is to daytime summer what cocktail parties are to evenings. Floaty and fun mini dresses with an excuse to leave uncomfortable heels at home – hello, you need to stomp the divots! – you can find the best summer day dresses that are not out of place in the middle of a paddock.
CANNES FILM FESTIVAL:
We might not all be headed to Cannes but formal occasions can be more plentiful in the summer than any other time of year and if you’re dressing a bump, you don’t have to compromise on elegance. Floor-length gowns are often essential (and if you’re not comfortable in heels no one will know you’ve opted for flats) but looser silhouettes will cover a bump at any stage and keep you cool.
SUMMER AT THE SERPENTINE:
There’s no better place to get adventurous with your wardrobe than at an art gallery. Bright and bold colours and interesting cuts are calling our for a setting like The Serpentine. Prints from brands like Borgo de Nor, Emilia Wickstead or La Double J are begging for an Instagram-worthy background and lush green grass. It’s what Warhol would have wanted.
