AWARDS SEASON: BEST-DRESSED BUMPS

AWARDS SEASON: BEST-DRESSED BUMPS

The most memorable red carpet looks from this year’s mums-to-be

The beginning of the year is often considered a dreary time – back to normal life after a month of festivities and the cold weather dictating our everyday sartorial choices. But one bright spot that we can always look forward to is awards season.

Turning up as many fresh looks as Fashion Week, this year’s red carpet has more high-profile pregnancies than we can count, and these stars of the red carpet are getting us excited about our own formal occasions in 2018.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria, who is expecting her first child, was the picture of elegance in a low-cut custom made Genny gown in flattering velvet and simple accessories. The V-neck was trimmed with silk which made the bump a key focus of the look.

America Ferrera Natalie Portman

America Ferrera is also a first-time mum and paired her glittering floor length gown with a smart blazer, small clutch, and with two-time mum Natalie Portman as her date.

Behati Prinsloo

Behati Prinsloo opted for a single colour to make a statement in a short, green, printed silk Gucci dress that is just as wearable with and without a bump.

Chrissy Teigen

On the Grammy’s red carpet Chrissy Teigen stole the show in a silver Yanina Couture dress. Boasting draping fabric and a bold split, the gown was considered to have the most striking look of the evening and flawlessly flattered her bump. She also chose this occasion to announce she is expecting a baby boy.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr all opted for a one-tone leopard print Balmain gown with a feathered train and keyhole detailing. The fabric hugged her figure and was characteristic of the model and entrepreneur’s style.
